CHESTER MOORE: Don’t forget S.A.L.T. Youth Division

The Saltwater Angler’s League of Texas (SALT) Memorial Day Classic Fishing Tournament takes place this weekend.

This will be the first event held at their new clubhouse on Pleasure Island and features several new categories.

Anglers should remember there is a free youth division for the annual event.

Junior anglers (15 and younger) can compete for first place prizes for categories ranging from crabs to croaker and everything in between.

The youth division is free of charge and signing up is not necessary. Kids can just show up and weigh in their catches at the SALT Club.

Adult anglers who want to sign up still have a chance today and can pay $30 to fish both the inshore and offshore divisions.

Tickets are being sold at The Boat Ramp, Peggy’s On the Bayou, Simon Outfitters, Jorgensen Marine, Heritage Marine, County Home & Ranch, Sportsman’s Supply, West End Hardware, Tally’s Tackle, Causeway Bait, Tackle & Grill, Daley’s Hunt ‘n’ Fish, Terry’s Rod An’ Reel, and Simmon’s Tire.
